Testing the Sea Marshall AU9
A full system test is performed prior to the Sea Marshall AU9 being installed
into an MRT approved SOLAS rated PFD. The device is
[OFF]
when shipped
in a PFD and needs to be configured in the
[READY]
state prior to use.
WARNING:
After deployment into active service, a regular full
system test of the Sea Marshall AU9 should be performed every 3
months. Do not test the Sea Marshall AU9 more than once per
month as this could affect battery life and operation of the device
in an emergency. MRT also mandates that the Sea Marshall AU9
must be returned to MRT, or an authorised MRT service agent, for
annual servicing and recertification.
Low Power Function Test Mode: Battery Testing
Ensure the
ARMING SWITCH
is in the
[OFF]
position.
1. Press and hold the round rubber
ACTIVATION BUTTON
to
activate function test mode.
2. Observe the
ANTENNA LED
:
a.
GREEN LED
= Batteries OK, with the following specific
functionality during testing:
• A low power signal is transmitted with upswept tone.
• Short
BEEPS
are audible at approximately 1 sec intervals.
•
GREEN LED
flashes 7 times with every alternate
audible
BEEP
(approximately 14 sec duration).
• Audible
BEEPS
and low power transmission continues
until the
ACTIVATION BUTTON
is released.
