be provided. Swimming pool lighting must be sufficient to assess the depth of the
pool and to see all the elements in and around the pool. Consult a specialist for
lighting.
Restrict access to the pool - Do not keep chairs or other furniture next to the pool
that the child could use to get into the pool. Steps must be removed whenever the
pool is unattended. A fence around the pool and a lockable gate are highly re-
commended. Some legislation may require them.
No alcohol or drugs - Drinking alcohol or drugs is incompatible with pool activities.
Persons who have drunk alcohol or have drunk any drug should not be put into the
pool and should be carefully observed when in the adjacent areas.
Keep Your Pool Clean and Healthy - The pool water must be regularly filtered
and chemically treated to make it healthier. Use a suitable filter unit to remove
scattered particles and appropriate pool chemicals according to their instructions
to destroy harmful bacteria and prevent algae formation. Remember that water is
a serious health risk.
WARNING: Do not modify the pool or make any interventions in the construction
of the assembled and filled pool. This may result in a pool breakdown or serious
injury.
Maintenance of a swimming pool
WARNING: Concentrated chlorine can damage the swimming pool and metal pool
parts. Immediately brush any spatter.
Foil
Check the film regularly if it is not leaking. Blowing the foil causes a drop in water
level, which can cause damage to the pool or filter unit. Smaller film repairs can be
done with a foil repair kit. Greater damage needs to be addressed by replacing the
film with a new one. Clean the foil with a special product. Do not use any abrasives
or solvents. Long-term water leakage through the pool foil may corrode the inside
of the pool wall. If there is a leakage of water, check to see if the film has been dam-
aged. If so, correct the leakage site and check the inner surface of the pool wall for
the next time (for example when swimming the pool) to ensure that it does not get
damaged. Treat and treat the damaged area with a suitable anti-corrosion coating.
The outer wall of swimming pool
Keep the pool wall clean. Wash with a faint soapy solution. Do not use abrasives,
solvents or cleaning powders. Immediately remove any spilled pool chemicals. Apply
all exposed screw heads and nuts to colorless outdoor varnish. Regularly check all
metal parts for rusting, at least once a season. All grooves and rusted surfaces on
metal parts should be treated with a suitable anti-corrosion paint - follow the in-
structions on the can with paint
REMEMBER: All rusting surfaces on the pool wall must be painted in an anti-corrosi-
on coating on time. A strongly rusted pool may collapse.
Pay special attention to all leaks around the collector and return nozzles. Leaks must
be removed immediately.
