Carefully read through the Operating Instructions before starting any work!
This particularly applies to the General Safety Instructions section
and the safety instructions in the various chapters.
Work on the common-rail system
WARNING
Risk of injury due to discharging fluids
Fluids discharged under high pressure (1800 bar) can cause serious injuries.
Therefore:
S
Always have work on the common-rail system performed by trained, qualified personnel.
S
Switch off the engine and wait for depressurisation before commencing work on the common-rail sys
tem.
WARNING
Danger to life due to defective lines
Jet of fluid discharged under high pressure.
Therefore:
S
Never touch the jet of fluid.
S
Press the emergency off button immediately.
S
If necessary, implement further measures to reduce the pressure and stop the jet of fluid.
S
Collect and dispose of discharged fluids in the correct manner.
S
Replace the defective parts.
WARNING
Danger to life due to strong magnetic fields
Therefore:
S
People with pacemakers are not allowed to be near the engine.
S
People with metal implants are not allowed to be near the engine.
S
Keep ferro-magnetic materials and electromagnets away from the magnetic source
(minimum distance 3 m).
S
Set aside metallic objects (jewellery, watches, writing implements etc.) before commencing mainte
nance work.
S
Do not allow any electronic devices near the magnetic source.
S
Do not allow any storage media, credit cards etc. near the magnetic source.
