Disassembling and assembling seawater pump

Disassembling seawater pump

Remove belt pulley

by undoing bolt

. To do so prevent shaft

from turning by inserting a mandrel

through the leakage bore

Disassemble bearing housing

. To do so undo nuts

and remove bearing housing.

Loosen tensioning nut

. To do so prevent shaft

from turning by inserting a mandrel through the leakage

bore

. Take off impeller

Remove circlip

, remove adjusting washer

. Press shaft

with bearing

out of the housing. Press axial

face seal

out of the bearing housing

Assembling seawater pump

Insert new axial face seal

in the bearing housing

. Heat bearing

up to 135

C and push onto the

shaft

. Press shaft and bearing into the bearing housing

insert adjusting washer

and fit circlip

the bearing housing.
Fit impeller

on to the shaft

and secure by means of tensioning nut

. To do so prevent shaft

from

turning by inserting a mandrel through the leakage bore

Tightening torque: 32 Nm

Fit O-ring

into the pump housing

. Push bearing housing into the pump housing and tighten nuts

Push belt pulley

onto the shaft and tighten with bolt

. Insert bolt with Loctite 243. To do so prevent

shaft

from turning by inserting a mandrel through the leakage bore

Tightening torque: 110 Nm
