6.3.2.
binding
Manually bind a book as follows:
a) Turn the machine on: move the switch button to I;
b) Wait until the glue has reached the working temperature;
The glue may take more than 30 minutes to melt comple-
tely, depending on the machine’s setting and environmental
conditions;
c) The alarm is flashing: press it and follow the instructions;
d) Activate the manual mode: on the main page of the touch
screen, press the MAN button;
e) Select the deepness for the notching system;
f) Select the height for the cover nipper;
g) Open the book clamp by pressing the button 2a (see picture);
h) Jog the sheets you wish to bind and place them inside the
clamp;
i) Close the clamp: press the button 2a and be sure ½ mm
space is left between the book and the clamp;
j) Carry out the first working cycle: press the START button.
The clamp will close the book;
k) Press the START button again. The clamp will convey the
sheets to the notching system and will stop on the left side of
the machine;
l) Position the cover:
untight the screw (1a);
position the cover using the central benchmark and adjust
the positioning bracket (1) to the length required;
the positioning bracket can be locked in place by tightening
the locking screw (1a) to facilitate later bindings;
m) Carry out the second working cycle by pressing the START
button (B): the clamper will convey the sheets to the gluing
unit (2) and, once the cover has been glued and clamped for
the set length of time, it will release the binded book;
n) If the amount of the glue is applied on the book is insufficient
or is too much, increase or reduce the quantity of glue as
follows:
• untight the knob (3d);
• move the regulator to the right to increase the amount of
glue applied, move it to the left to reduce it;
o) Carry out point g to m again to bind another book.
