to warm. However, if it has not warmed after several minutes,
it may signal an issue with the heater system. This will require
attention from an authorized Malibu dealer.
Tower, Canvas, & Accessories
G5 Tower
The standard tower on Wakesetters (except the M240) is the
G5 Tower. The G5 can be raised to its full height for extraordinary
boating enjoyment or lowered for towing and storage.
On each interior side of the tower legs is a large lever. During
operation, the lever must be secured on each side in the locked
position.
To raise or lower the tower, Malibu strongly recommends
a second person to help steady the tower into position. The
tower’s weight could cause loss of control, resulting in damage
to the boat or potential injury to person(s).
Models:
The G5 Tower is standard on all Wakesetter models.
It can be deleted by the purchaser at the time of order. Due to
the complexity of mounting the tower, and how critical it is to
the boat’s stability that it be mounted in the proper location, as
well as requirements for any electrical wiring, Malibu does not
recommend the addition of a tower and tower accessories after
the boat has been delivered.
The tower is designed to be used either fully up or fully
down, not in between. When raising, it is important to raise
the tower fully until it physically stops.
GX Tower
The GX can be raised to its full height for extraordinary
boating enjoyment or lowered for towing and storage. The
control panel is located on the tower above the helm.
To operate the raising and lowering of the tower:
1. Turn the battery switch on and wait five seconds for
power up.
2. Push the button on the side of the GX tower to turn
on power to the tower and allow five seconds before
continuing. When there is power at the tower location,
the light will be on.
3. Rotate the adjacent knob counterclockwise to raise the
tower.
4. Rotate the knob clockwise to lower the tower.
To fully stow the tower (Bimini locks must engage when it is in
the raised position):
1. Swivel the fore side of the Bimini (where equipped) to the
upright position. There is a release pin on the port side
and the starboard side of the Bimini that must be pulled
to release the Bimini to swivel. (Failure to do so will cause
the Bimini to hit and potentially damage the windshield.
Such damage is not covered under warranty.)
2. Slide the Bimini aft as much as possible. (Failure to do so
will cause the Bimini to hit and damage the windshield.)
3. Swivel the helm seat so the back is in the interior, to move
it out of the way of the tower and the speakers when the
tower is lowered. Otherwise, the speaker could damage
the seat, which is not covered under warranty. Slide the
seat as far as possible.
DANGER
!
Never operate the heater within a confined space. This includes
with a canvas cover over the cockpit or bow area, with the stern of
the boat in a shallow area, or at the dock/shore with other boats or
docks close by. Any situation in which exhaust fumes are trapped or
limited in disbursement could result in carbon monoxide fumes within
the deck and could result in carbon monoxide poisoning. Carbon
monoxide poisoning is addressed in the Safety section of this manual.
!
WARNING
Always ensure that the lever on each side is secure prior to any
outing. If a lever is left unsecured, the tower will become unstable
and could fall on individuals or become dislodged while towing if
the tower is upright. Failure to turn the handle until it stops when
unlatching the tower can cause latch damage by failing to activate
the cam inside the latch. This could result in damage that may not be
covered under warranty, and you will be unable to lock the side of the
tower when it is in the UP position. This is potentially very dangerous
and could result in the tower falling on individuals onboard. Also,
in opening and closing the lever, take care to avoid pinching fingers,
hands, or other parts of the body.
Adding any tower to a Malibu boat other than a Malibu-built tower
will void the warranty. due to the complexity of adding a tower, the
stresses on the deck and the potential for injury if the tower fails,
Malibu strongly discourages the addition of a post-boat construction
tower. If Malibu tower accessories are added to the tower after the
build process, it may be necessary to upgrade the internal tower shock
absorbers to accept the additional weight and perform as designed.
This kind of upgrade should be done only by an authorized Malibu
dealer.
