CHECKING TIMING
- Rotate the crank shaft 2 turns in the engine rotation di-
rection (clockwise).
- Turn the magneto flywheel

to position the "T" refer-
ence in front of the crankcase stud

- Make sure the cam shaft references

are parallel to
the head level

.
If references are not aligned, repeat the timing
procedure.
VALVE TIMING ADJUSTMENT
- Manually rotate the crank shaft in the operating direction
to correctly align the rocker arm with the cam

.
- Loosen the rocker arm adjusting screw locknut
(1)
.
- With a thickness gauge, adjust timing on each valve, us-
ing the rocker arm adjusting screw
(2)
.
Timing:
• 0.10 mm intake.
• 0.10 mm exhaust.
- Lock the rocker arm adjusting screw.
- Tighten the locknut.
