1. Introduction

Target devices
Android terminal (Android version after 4.2) equipped with NFC
But Makita does not guarantee all Android terminal equipped with NFC can install “Makita tool”
application (in the following manual, as “apps” simplified).
1-2 Note
Please read the following guides/instructions before using apps.
1) This apps is the exclusive one for the Makita product. You can get use-history data such as use
frequency, load distribution, error information, the maintenance information.
2) The damage (including the cost to make up for the direct damage, the special damage, the
incidental damage, the punitive damage, a fine, the loss of data, the consequent damage including
the loss of profits or substitute) that occurred in the user due to application, utilization of this apps,
shall not be responsible for Makita at all.
3) Illustrations displayed on the terminal of the user may be different from those of the instruction
manual of this apps.
4) Please do not copy this apps either a part or all without permission. Also the following acts are
prohibited reproduction, modification, and quotation.
5) Please contact directly to each manufacturer about the detail of NFC mounting position of your
terminal.
6) The N mark is the registered trademark of Near Field Communication Forum,Inc. in U.S. and in
the miscellaneous countries.
In this manual TM, ® symbol mark are not described.
1-3 Important points to use NFC apps
1) Activate NFC apps at the setting screen of the terminal.
Please refer to the instruction manual of your terminal about the detail of the set-up and the aerial
position of your terminal.
1-4 Important points about NFC communication
1) Setup change with your terminal just in front of the battery attached to the machine.
2) When you attach battery to the machine, turn off a switch of the machine.
3) Progress of the communication is displayed by progress bar. "Success" is displayed when
communication is completed. It takes several seconds for communication to complete from NFC
detection. So your terminal should be hold over the machine continuously.
4) When your terminal detect NFC your terminal sounds. When communication was completed the
sound like “Pi,Pi,” will be heard.

1) If the communication fails, "Communication error" will be displayed on your screen.
When this error is displayed, check whether battery is correctly attached to the machine. And then
hold your terminal over the machine again.
