Unlock the stopper rod by operating the orange
handle.
Pull the stopper rod completely upwards. You may
need to use some force to do this.
Primary Considerations:
Attempt the following steps if you feel firm
resistance and/or can’t pull the rod further upwards:
•
Push the rod back down slightly. Then use
force and a 1/4 to 1/2 clockwise turn to pull
the rod upwards. This should be performed
in one powerful motion. As you are pulling
up, you are also turning the rod.
•
Pull the rod up until you catch. If the rod
will only raise 6”-12”, you may be caught
on the crimp of the stopper. Still applying
upward pressure, turn the rod side to side to
walk the stopper past the crimp point.
•
For maximum leverage, utilize two people to
pull the rod up.
Secondary Considerations:
Attempt the next steps if you are unsuccessful
with the primary considerations:
•
If you get the stopper past the catch and
are still having problems getting it out, try
releasing the vacuum of the stopper. Make
sure to apply continuous upward pressure.
•
If you are still having trouble with the
stopper, try pulling another vacuum.
Once the stopper is all the way retracted in the
tower, lock the stopper rod by operating the
orange handle.
