6 The following steps are now performed automatically:
•
Zero-balance adjustment
•
Opening the calibration gas feed
•
Waiting until the oxygen value drops below 0.2 vol. %
•

Calibrating the Opacimeter (MET 6.2 / 6.3)
The opacimeter cannot be adjusted manually because of its particular design. The
zero and the 100% points are adjusted automatically during the zero-balance
adjustment. If the permissible deviation is exceeded during calibration, first clean
the measurement tube, the transmitter and the receiver. If this does not correct
the deviation, an error has occurred. In this case, please contact MAHA Service.

The length of the MET's measurement chamber is 287 mm. As the labelling of the
filter glasses is based on a length of 430 mm, calibration mode needs to be
activated to inspect the measurement unit.
9.14.1
Calibration at the Unit
1 Set the unit to calibration mode.
Display: Menu > Servicing menu > Mode >
2 Once calibration mode has been set, select "Exit" to exit the menu and switch
to measurement. During measurement, "Calibration" mode must be displayed
in the information line.
3 Remove the filter glass cover and place the desired filter glass in the slot
provided.
4 You can now compare the value displayed with the value of the filter glass. For
the official calibration of the unit, the following calibration error margins apply:
Opacity:
Filter value ±5%,
Opacity coefficients:
Filter value ±0.3 m

Calibration via the MES
For calibration via MES, the unit is automatically set to "Calibration" mode and the
measurement is started.
MES: Diesel > Device diagnosis > Calibration > Calibration overview
The remaining procedure is the same as that described above.
