5. Computer Controlled Operation
The 3410 Torque Display can be used with a personal computer for standard or custom torque and
encoder setups. Using the 3410 with a computer enables the unit to perform at its full capacity.
5.1
ABOUT THE RS-232 INTERFACE
The 3410 is equipped with an Isolated RS-232 (serial) interface that communicates with the host
computer through a DB-9 interface connector. The connector pin-out consists of 2-TX, 3-RX and
5-GND.

The RS-232 connection includes null modem wiring internal to the unit. To install, use a straight
through pin-to-pin connector cable, which can be purchased from you local electronics store.
