Sending A Group Call
1. Turn on the radio and set the POWER ON-
OFF/VOLUME knob to the desired volume level.
Select the desired system and group.
2. Press and hold the PTT button. The radio will
display
the system and group names and
perform the necessary signaling required to
obtain a communication channel.
3. When the working channel is assigned, and
are displayed and a short mid-pitch tone sounds
(if programmed) indicating communication can
begin.
If two or more tones, or a high pitched tone
is heard, the system may be busy and the
call request has been placed in queue or the
request has been denied for some reason.
Refer to the ALERT TONES section for
more details.
4. Hold the radio approximately three inches from
the mouth and speak in a normal voice into the
microphone (located upper-left of speaker grille).
5. Release the PTT button when the transmission
is complete and listen for a reply.
