OPERATION
Embroidery stitches
Arch stitch
Use the following settings:
•
Stitch pattern rotary switch: 9
•
Stitch length: 2
•
Sewing foot: zig-zag foot
•
Thread tension adjusting wheel: 6-8
This stitch is used for decorative seaming, in particular of slantly cut fabrics.
Elastic crotch seam
Use the following settings:
•
Stitch pattern rotary switch: 1 - 10
•
Stitch length: 1 - 10
•
Sewing foot: zig-zag foot
•
Thread tension adjusting wheel: 2 - 6
The following settings of the stitch length rotary switch (3) enable you to vary the stitch length
arbitrarily,
setting on "+" is suitable for wide stitches.
setting on "-" is suitable for close stitches.
Grid stitch
Use the following settings:
•
Stitch pattern rotary switch: 6
•
Stitch length: 1 - 10
•
Sewing foot: zig-zag foot
•
Thread tension adjusting wheel: 4 - 6
1. Sew several rows of straight stitch with a distance of 1 cm upon the fabric.
2. Select setting 4 as stitch length.
3. Fasten upper and lower thread on one side by knots.
4. Pull at the lower thread from the other side, so that pleats are produced at regular intervals.
5. Fix the threads on the other side.
6. Sew a decorative grid pattern across the pleats.
7. Afterwards thoroughly remove the auxiliary threads that served to produce the pleats.
NOTE:
A decreased tension of the upper thread facilitates the generation of piping cords.
