TIPS FOR MAINTAINING MAXIMUM BATTERY LIFE
Lumax
Battery Packs will operate for hundreds of cycles when they are maintained and used according
to these instructions:
1.
Charge the Battery Pack before being completely discharged (<10% of the charge is left).
2.
Always stop tool operation and charge the Battery Pack when you notice less tool power.
Be alert for Battery Packs that are nearing their end of life.
If you notice decreased tool
performance or significantly shorter running time between charges then it is time to replace the
Battery Pack. Failure to do so can cause the tool to operate improperly or damage the Charger.
3.
Charge the Battery Pack with room temperature at 50°-104°F (10°-40°C).
4.
Let a hot Battery Pack cool down before charging it.
5.
A Battery Pack that is stored for three months without being used will discharge itself. Batteries
discharge at a rate of about 1% per day. Charge the Battery Pack every six months even if it is
unused, to maximize Battery life.
6. Long term Battery storage should be in the discharged state.
Battery Pack last longer and
re-charge better when they are stored discharged. Remember to fully recharge Battery Pack
before using after prolonged storage.
7.
Store your Battery Pack in a Cool, Dry place. Do not store it where the temperature may exceed
120°F (50°C) such as in a vehicle or metal building during the summer. High temperatures will
overheat the Battery Pack, reducing Battery life.
8.
If it is stored for several months, the Battery Pack will gradually lose its charge. One to three
cycles of charging and discharging through normal use will restore the capacity of the Battery
Pack. During the life of the Battery Pack, the operating time between charges becomes shorter.
If the operating time becomes extremely short after a proper charge, the usable life of the Battery
Pack has been reached and it should be replaced.
WARNING!
To reduce the risk of Personal Injury and Damage, never immerse your RoboLuber, Battery
Pack or Charger in Liquid or allow Liquid to flow inside them. To reduce the risk of Explosion, never Burn
a Battery Pack even if it is Damaged, Dead or completely Discharged.
CAUTION:
The Battery Charger is for charging Lumax 20V Li-Ion Battery Pack.
Never
use it for other
purposes or for other manufacturer’s Batteries. When you charge a new Battery Pack or a Battery Pack
which has not been used for a long period of time, it may not accept a full charge. This is a normal condition
and does not indicate a problem. You can recharge the Battery Pack fully after discharging it completely
and recharging a couple of times. When you charge a Battery Pack from a just-operated tool or a Battery
Pack which has been left in a location exposed to direct sunlight or heat for a long time, let it cool off
to room temperature before charging for best results. Then re-insert it and try to charge it once more.
When you charge a new Battery Pack or a Battery Pack which has not been used for a long period,
sometimes the charging light will go out quickly. If this occurs, remove the Battery Pack and re-insert it.
If the charging light goes out within one minute even after repeating this procedure a couple of times,
the Battery Pack is “dead”. Replace it with a new one. If Battery Pack does not charge properly:
a.
Check for Voltage at Outlet by plugging in some other electrical device.
b.
Check to see if Outlet is connected to a light switch which turns power “off” when lights are
turned
“off”.
c.
Check Battery Pack terminals for dirt. Clean with cotton swab and alcohol, if necessary.
Double check to ensure that alcohol is completely evaporated before you insert the Battery
Pack into the Charger or RoboLuber.
d.
If you still do not get proper charging, please call Lumax, for further assistance.
Note: Use of Chargers or Battery Packs not sold by Lumax will void the Warranty.
