NOTE:
Before testing the installation, make sure the telephone line
cord on the base is plugged into a modular jack and the power
cord is plugged into a wall outlet. Also, verify that the battery is
charged (see “Charging the Battery” on the previous page)
and that the antenna on the base is in an upright position.
After charging the battery, remove the handset from the base.
Turn the handset on by pressing
[On/Off] .
ON appears in the handset display.
On the base, hold down both Ringer Volume controls (
[
∨
]
and
[
∧
]
)
simultaneously for at least three seconds.
The handset emits two beeps. The Talk, Charge, and Message
LEDs on the base light. All indicators on the display appear as
shown below:
Release the Ringer Volume controls.
The handset and base ringers sound, and the handset returns
to the "On" state.
If the ringers do not sound, the three LEDs on the base do not
light, or the indicators do not appear on the handset display, call
the AT&T Helpline at 1 800 628-2888.
