LS INTFC 1A - 8B: These connectors are cabled to the low-speed
interface slots 1A through 8B. For example, the DS3 circuit pack in slot 1A
receives three DS3 signals through the three IN connectors (1, 2, and 3) on
the interconnection panel associated with slot 1A. The DS3 circuit pack in
slot 1A also transmits three DS3 signals through the three OUT connectors
(1, 2, and 3) associated with slot 1A. The 9A through 16B connector
designations are not used on this shelf. Any LS INTFC 1A - 8B connector
cabled to a slot equipped with an OC3 (1.3 STD) circuit pack is not used.

■
X.25: This connector provides an interface to a message-based operations
system that uses X.25 protocol and the TL1 message language. For more
information about this message-based operations system interface, refer to
Volume I, Section 6, "Operations Interfaces."
■
SER TLM 1 and SER TLM 2: These connectors provide a serial telemetry
interface to a remote maintenance center that uses telemetry byte-oriented
serial (TBOS) protocol. For more information about this serial telemetry
interface, refer to Volume I, Section 6, "Operations Interfaces."
■
OFFICE ALMS: This connector provides an interface to the local office
audible and visible alarms. For more information about this office alarm
interface, refer to Volume I, Section 6, "Operations Interfaces."
■
PAR TLM: This connector provides an interface to an operations center for
alarm information. For more information about this parallel telemetry
interface, refer to Volume I, Section 6, "Operations Interfaces."
■
MISC DSCRT 1 and MISC DSCRT 2: These connectors provide an
interface to external equipment via a terminal strip. This allows an
operations system to monitor and control equipment collocated with the
FT-2000 OC-48 Lightwave System. For more information about this
user-settable miscellaneous discrete interface, refer to Volume I, Section 6,
"Operations Interfaces." For detailed information about terminal strip
wiring, refer to 365-575-115,

■
CIT (DTE): This connector provides an interface to a modem that allows
dial-up access. For more information about the CIT (DTE) interface, refer
to Volume I, Section 6, "Operations Interfaces."
■
TIMING IN PRI and TIMING IN SECY: These connectors provide a PRI
and SEC interface to an external DS1 timing source that is required for
synchronous operation. For more information about synchronization
interfaces, refer to Volume I, Section 5, "Control, Transmission, and
Synchronization Interfaces."
