Installing the New Drive
•
Place the new drive in the case, and reattach the holding screws.
•
Reconnect the cables in the same way as connected to the previous drive.
o
Reconnect the IDE Cable. Confirm that the cable is securely connected within the DVR
and to the Hard Drive.
o
Reconnect the Hard Drive power cable. Confirm the cable is securely connected to the
Hard Drive.
•
Replace the drive cover on the top of the DVR, and reattach with the screws.
New Hard Drive Format
The New Hard Drive MUST be formatted.
NOTE:
If using multiple Hard Drives, the format will erase data on
BOTH
drives. When using two (2)
Hard Drives, it is recommended to back up any data on the existing drive before installing the second one.
RTC (Real Time Clock) Chip
RTC (REAL TIME CLOCK) CHIP contains the system information and menu settings. If the battery for
RTC is discharged, the system will reset to default (factory) settings.
If a new
HARD DRIVE
is detected, the system will
prompt you to
FORMAT
the drive. If you do not
choose to format the
HARD DRIVE
, the drive will
not be detected by the system.
If you choose to
FORMAT
a drive in this way, the
drive will no longer be readable by a regular PC.
Press the
PLAY
button to format the drive, or pres
the
STOP
button to cancel the format.
