Before You Begin
Read this entire manual before you use your new heater (especially the section "Safety Precautions"
on pages 4 & 5). Failure to follow the instructions may result in property damage, bodily injury, or
even death.
Turn off the main gas supply to the appliance during appliance installation or maintenance.
During appliance installation or maintenance or in case of remote control malfunction turn off the
main gas supply.
Location of Controls
To access the gas control valve, open the control door on the face. The controls are shown below.
Shutoff Valve
This valve shuts off gas to the insert.
On/Off Switch
This control is used to turn the heater on and off.
Continuous / Intermittent
Pilot Switch
This switch controls how the pilot flame works: continuous; or, intermittent
(pilot turns on and off with the burner). See the section
“Continuous/Intermittent Pilot” for details.
Flame Adjust Knob
This knob controls the flame height from low ("LO") to high ("HI"). The pointer
above the knob points to the position this knob is in.
Battery Tray – or -
Optional Remote
Receiver
The insert ships with a battery tray (backup power for power outages). If
using the optional remote, the remote receiver replaces the battery tray (it
also includes a switch that replaces the on/off switch).
Optional Blower Knob
This knob controls the speed of the internal convection blower that pushes
the heated air into the room.
