The following scheme has been developed by The World Health Organization (WHO), and
it identifies the low- and high-risk blood pressure areas. This standard, however, is a general
guideline as individuals’ blood pressure varies among different people and different age groups,
it is always subjective.

10. CAUTIONS BEFORE USE
• Avoid any type of physical exercise for at least 30 min before
the measurement
• Sit in a calm environment for at least 5 minutes before the measurement
• Avoid speaking during the measurement
• Do not move during the measurement
• Do not stand during the measurement. Sit in a relaxed position,
rest your elbow and be sure the cuff is at heart level
• During the measurement, avoid electromagnetic interference with other
electronic devices
• Wait 3 min before a new measurement
• If you need to measure your blood pressure every day, do it at the same
time of the day
• Results comparisons should be made only when the monitor is used on the
same arm, in the same position and at the same time of the day
• This blood pressure monitor is not recommended for people with strong
arrhythmia.
• Do not use the device when damage and/or malfunction has occurred
• Remove batteries when the unit is not in use for an extended period of time
10.1 Battery precautions (

• Do not mix new and old batteries simultaneously.
• Replace batteries when Low Battery Indicator appears on screen (
).
• Be sure battery polarity is correct.
• Do not mix battery types. Long-life alkaline batteries are recommended.
• Remove batteries from device when not in operation for more than 3 months.
• Dispose batteries properly; observe local laws and regulations.
