Hydraulic Fluid
The hydraulic fluid reservoir holds 10 gallons (37.8 l)
Premium grade petroleum based hydraulic fluids provide
the best performance. These fluids typically provide
additives that are beneficial to the hydraulic system and
carry and ISO viscosity rating.
Recommended Fluid Ratings
Minimum Viscosity
Best Range
70 SUS
100-200 SUS
13 cSt
20-43 cSt
NOTE:
SAE grade crankcase oils SAE 10W-30 or 10W-
40 may be used. However, these oils may not
contain all the recommended additives and the
fluid maintenance requirements will increase.
Hydraulic Oil
Use correct viscosity engine oil for proper
hydraulic system performance.
Temperature
Viscosity
above 35° F (2° C)
10W40 or 10W30 engine oil
below 35° F (2° C)
5W30 or 10W engine oil
Well-filtered, water free, breakdown free fluid operated
under 200° F (93° C) will last the service life of the tender.
However, since contamination is hard to prevent, a fluid
change is recommended every 500 hours, or once a year.
The breather should be replaced every 250 hours, or
every two years, whichever comes first.
Filling the Hydraulic Reservoir
For accurate fluid level readings, check when the fluid
is cold.

Remove filler cap (1) on reservoir.
Pour new fluid into reservoir, checking the level on sight
gauge (2). Fill to blue line.
IMPORTANT:
Do not overfill the reservoir.
When done filling, replace the filler cap.
Draining the Hydraulic Reservoir
Stop the engine.
Place a drain pan under the hydraulic reservoir large
enough to hold the fluid from the reservoir.
Remove the drain plug at the bottom of the reservoir and
allow the fluid to drain.
IMPORTANT:
Dispose of the used hydraulic fluid in
accordance with local, state, and federal
environmental regulations.
Remove and clean filler screen filter.
Remove and clean suction strainer.
NOTE:
Refer to “Hydraulic Reservoir” on page 26
for exploded view of hydraulic reservoir
components.
Flush the inside of the reservoir with clean hydraulic fluid.
Reinstall filler breather/cap and suction strainer.
Reinstall drain plug under reservoir.
Replace the hydraulic fluid filter (3). Refer to “Hydraulic
Fluid Filter” on page 22 for instructions.
