Lubricants
CAUTION:
Use proper safety procedures
when handling petroleum products including,
but not limited to, the use of rubber gloves
and eye protection.
Proper lubrication is important. Too little lubricant will
cause premature failure of a bearing. Too much lubrication
usually causes high operating temperature and early
failure of seals. Follow all lubrication instructions and
schedules included in this section.
For lubrication, use an SAE multipurpose high
temperature grease with extreme-pressure (EP) rating.
Also acceptable is an SAE multipurpose lithium based
grease.
IMPORTANT:
Your machine can operate at top efficiency
only if clean lubricants are used. Use
clean containers to handle all lubricants.
Store them in an area protected from
dust, moisture and other contaminants.
Grease Points
WARNING:
Do not lubricate parts while the
machine is running.
NOTE:
Replace any broken or missing grease fittings.
Be sure to clean fittings before greasing.

Location:
Auger bearing (1).
Interval:
Every 8 hours of operation.
Hydraulic System
The hydraulic system and its components depend on
clean hydraulic fluid for internal lubrication.
Premature wear, malfunctions, and component damage
will occur if contaminants enter the hydraulic system.
Damage to hydraulic components due to the following
conditions will void any warranty claims:
• Lack of, or dirty/contaminated fluid.
•
Using a fluid grade or type other than recommended.
• Abuse.
• Neglect.
Whenever performing any maintenance or repair work on
they hydraulic system, cap or plug all disconnected hose
ends, open ports, and fittings to prevent contamination
of the hydraulic system.
Keep all connections tight. Keep suction line to pump
tight. Any leak will cause cavitation and early failure.
WARNING:
Shut engine off before
uncoupling pressure lines. Wear eye
protection and gloves to reduced risk of injury
which may be caused by residual pressure.
Change the hydraulic fluid if any of the following
conditions occur:
• Fluid becomes milky (possible presence of water).
• Metal fragments present as a result of component
failure or damage.
• Fluid has a rancid odor or is burnt. This may be
caused by fluid being overheated for an extended
period of time.
• Fluid has oxidized due to age and high temperature.
• Fluid additives have broken down, altering the
appearance and texture of the fluid.
