Hydraulic Reservoir Connections

Connect pump supply hydraulic hose to the upper port
(1) on the hydraulic reservoir. Connect opposite end of the
hose to the suction port on the truck’s hydraulic pump.
Connect pressure hose to the lower port (2) on the tender
frame. Connect opposite end of the hose to the pressure
port on the pump.
Check drain plug in reservoir. If loose, tighten.
Fill the reservoir with hydraulic fluid. Refer to “Hydraulic
Fluid” on page 21 for hydraulic fluid recommendations
and filling instructions.
Ladders
Keep shipping tie-wraps on ladders until tender is
securely mounted to the chassis. Once secure, the tie-
wraps can be removed.
WARNING: Climbing on ladders before tender
is secured to frame could cause tender to tip,
creating a crushing hazard which may result in
serious injury, or death, to those nearby.
Mounting Auger
Unstrap Lift Cylinder

Remove tie wrap (1) securing auger lift cylinder to the
frame. Swing cylinder down and out of the way to prepare
for auger installation.
Bleeding Air from Hydraulic Cylinder
When installing auger lift cylinder with ON/OFF control,
be sure to bleed air from hydraulic cylinder before putting
the tender into service.
Do not actuate motor actuate motor ON/OFF until motor
connections have been made.
After connecting hoses, use the control valve to extend
and retract lift cylinder several times until the operation
runs smoothly.
