5.5 LMI G-Whiz Part Replacement
End Cover: LMI G-Whiz End Cover (2) #7645, #4 Screws (4)
#6137, #1 Screws (4) #6188
Tools required – Small Phillips screw driver, & T10 Torx
driver
Remove (8) screws on existing unit (2) #1 screws on top of
each end cover, and (2) #4 screws on bottom of each end
cover. The end cover should simply slide off each end. Push
new end covers on as the old ones came off, or as illustrated
below. Align holes and reinstall screws or use new screws
provided with the end covers. Do not turn the screws all the
way down until they tighten to the black plastic casing below.
Just run the screw down into the counter bored holes in the end cover until they become flush with the
highest point of the boss (you will feel a slight resistance, stop there). The end cover material is very soft.
The screws are only there to keep them from sliding off easily.
Handle: LMI G-Whiz Handle
Remove the handle by turning counterclockwise until it comes out of the aluminum bracket. The handle is
secured with a small amount of Loctite 222MS thread locker. We recommend you apply the same Loctite
only to secure the new handle or simply tighten the new handle securely in place. Thread locker is
optional.
