Symptom Probable Causes Corrective Actions
Faulty battery Verify battery pack voltage is
at least 6.3 VDC. Replace
battery pack.
Faulty reed switch Position magnet away from
reed switch. Verify continuity
between pins #2 and #3. Verify
an open connection between
pins #1 and #3. Reposition
magnet close to reed switch.
Verify an open circuit between
pins #2 and #3, and continuity
between pins #1 and #3.
Replace reed switch.
No power
Reed switch improperly
positioned Verify that reed switch is in
correct position.
Stepping rate extremely slow Increase step rate. Battery runs down
Summit Trainer is consistently
used by lighter (less than 120
lbs.) users and workout
durations are consistently less
than 20 minutes, or usage is
less than 2 hours per day Charge unit overnight at least
once per week to ensure a long
life for the battery.
