TROUBLESHOOTING

Faulty reed switch Position magnet away from
reed switch. Verify continuity
between pins #2 and #3. Verify
an open connection between
pins #1 and #3. Reposition
magnet close to reed switch.
Verify an open circuit between
pins #2 and #3, and continuity
between pins #1 and #3.
Replace reed switch.
Reed switch improperly
positioned Verify that reed switch is
properly positioned in relation
to magnet.
Faulty display console Verify voltages at display
console connections. Substitute
a working display console.
Replace display console.
Faulty alternator control board Verify connections between
display console and alternator
control board. Substitute a
working alternator control
board. Replace alternator
control board.
Faulty connection Verify connections at display
console and alternator control
board. Repair connections.
Faulty wiring harness Verify continuity of main wire
harness. Replace wire harness.
Display console will not
illuminate
Faulty battery Verify that battery voltage is
6.3 VDC. Replace battery.
