Entering Numbers, Symbols, Smileys and
Canned Messages
To enter numbers:
Select the
123
mode and press the appropriate key.
(See “Selecting a Character Input Mode” on page 34).
To enter symbols:
Select the
Symbols
mode. (See “Selecting a Character
Input Mode” on page 34.) To enter a symbol, press the
appropriate key indicated on the display.
To enter “emoticons”(smileys):
Select the
Smileys
mode and press the appropriate
key. (See “Selecting a Character Input Mode” on
page 34.)
To enter canned messages:
1.
Select the
Pre-set Msg
mode. (See “Selecting a
Character Input Mode” on page 34.)

Scroll to the desired pre-programmed message and
press .
Note: Canned messages make composing text messages even
easier by allowing you to enter preset messages, such as
“Meet me at,” “Let’s get lunch,” or a customized canned
message of your own. (For more information on canned
messages, please see “Managing Pre-set Messages” on
page 52.)
