D01. ENGINE HOOD RELEASE LEVER
Check that the opening and closing of the
hood is smooth and that the latch operates
properly using the hood release lever.
D02. ENGINE OIL LEVEL
(HYBRID SYSTEM NOT RUNNING)
a) Remove the engine oil dipstick and
wipe it clean. Reinsert the dipstick and
pull it out to check the oil level. The level
should be between the two marks.
b) Check for dirt or impurities in the oil.
HINT:
If the oil level is too low, add specified
engine oil and check for oil leaks.
D03. BRAKE FLUID LEVEL
Visually check the fluid level through the
reservoir. If low, replenish the brake fluid
reservoir with FMVSS No. 116 DOT 3 or
SAE J1703 brake fluid and check for fluid
leaks.
Brake fluid level should be the “MAX” line
(within 5 mm (0.2 in.) below).
HINT:
Refer to the
Repair Manual
for fluid
specifications.
D04. HYBRID SYSTEM INVERTER AND
ENGINE COOLANT LEVEL
Visually check the coolant level through
the coolant reservoir tank when the hybrid
system is cool. The coolant level is suitable
if the level is between the “FULL” and
“LOW” lines on the tank.
CAUTION:
To prevent burning yourself, do not
remove the radiator cap when the hybrid
system is hot.
