PRELIMINARY INSTALLATION
Selecting a Location
The MRIDC Dimmer is provided in a steel enclosure suitable for mounting to a wall, the side of any existing
equipment or Unistrut
®
type mounting channel. The MRIDC Dimmer should be located in an area suitable for
unobstructed convection ventilation (typically utility room). Allow 3 feet in front of the MRIDC Dimmer for easy
accessibility and 4 inches on each side for ventilation. The MRIDC Dimmer is designed for vertical mounting.
All wiring to the MRIDC Dimmer should be performed by a qualified electrician. Only use copper type wiring of
suitable ampacity rating. Install according to NEC and Local codes. Refer to
“Appendix A - Component Location
Diagram and Circuit Diagram”
for connection points.
Installation Considerations
Prior to installing the MRIDC Dimmer, be sure to take into consideration the site you have selected. The MRIDC
Dimmer can produce heat and therefore require ventilation as well as accessibility. Consider these factors.
