4 MACHINE ADJUSTMENTS

Put the machine into the working position as follows:

- Pull up the locking hooks of the support frames and lower the

machine carefully by means of the rams to the headland position.
Continue operating the valve until the swath cover has been fully
extended as well.

• Carefully lower the rotors onto the ground by operating the

tractor's single acting valve.

The HIBISCUS 1525 Vario rake only:

- Slide the tine arms onto the rotor (fig. 8).

- Unfold up the protection brackets and secure them by means of

the locking pin.

4.1

Method of working

The HIBISCUS 1525 rake can only rake with the entire working
width, and lays down a single swath.

The HIBISCUS 1525 Vario rake can be deployed for three methods:

1 Raking across the full width, whereby one single swath is laid

down;

2 Raking at a narrower width, whereby one single swath is laid

down;

3 Raking across the full width, whereby two narrow swaths are

laid down.

- Open the ball-type valve at the back of the machine so as to be

able to use the adjustment ram for wheel steering.

- Set the machine for the desired working method by means of the

ram for steering control. To lay down two narrow swaths, the
steering plate of the ram needs to be reversed - please refer to
supplement A for an explanation.

4.2

Swath width

- The swath cover will automatically extend to the extreme position

upon folding the machine.
Operate the double acting valve one more time if the ram has not
extended fully.

- The outermost position of the swath cover can be adjusted by

inserting the end of ram 1 into one of the six holes on the
attachment plate (fig. 9).
Adjustment is dependent upon crop quantity and desired working
width.
Select a position in which there is a smooth flow of crop material
between the rotor and the swath curtain without build-up of
material.
Note: if one of the three interior positions was selected, then
folding up of the protection bracket is blocked.

- If 2 swaths are laid down, a swath cover may be fitted to the A-

frame of th LH rotor to reduce the size made by the RH rotor
(fig. 10).
