Chapter 2: ADC-6880 Analog to AES/EBU Digital Audio Converter
Configuration
There are several settings on the ADC-6880 necessary for proper
operation.
See
“Attenuation Jumpers” below.
Attenuation Jumpers
The attenuation jumpers allow the digital output signal level to be set
over a 14 dB range, from +16 dBu analog input = 0 dBFS digital output,
to +30 dBu analog input = 0 dBFS digital output, in calibrated 2 dB
increments. This range of input levels allows operators to set the
ADC-6880 such that the full-scale digital output (0 dBFS) will match
their maximum analog audio signal level.
Because the attenuation network is of sufficient precision, the gain
potentiometers do not have to be readjusted when changing input
attenuation jumper settings. This allows
you to set the attenuation
jumper to the required setting without having to readjust the gain
potentiometers.
