You can take high-quality pictures of such subjects as people, scenery, sporting events
and activities, people in night scenes and flowers in accordance with the surrounding
conditions.
Set the mode dial.
Press

to select the Advanced Scene Mode.
• If you press [DISPLAY] when selecting an Advanced Scene
Mode, explanations about each Advanced Scene Mode are
displayed.
Press [MENU/SET] to set.

• Return to above step

after pressing the [MENU/SET] to change the Advanced Scene Mode.

Technique for Portrait Mode
To make this mode more effective:

Use the longest possible focal length (rotate the zoom lever towards T).

Move close to the subject to make this mode more effective.
Notes
• The shutter speed may slow down up to 1 second in [INDOOR PORTRAIT].
• When [SOFT SKIN] is selected, if a part of the background etc. is a color similar to skin color,
this part is also smoothed.
• When [SOFT SKIN] is selected, this mode may not be effective when there is insufficient
brightness.
