5.1 Switching on the instrument
5. Operation
• The instrument will take a few seconds to ini
-
tialize. During this time, the installed version of
the software will be displayed on the monitor.
The instrument MUST be connected to a grounded power socket.
Only the power cord provided may be used, which is intended for the local power
supply (socket). Do not interfere with the grounding function by using an extension
cord without a ground wire.
The AC socket used for the power supply must be close to the instrument and easily
accessible.

• Before plugging the instrument into the mains,
make sure that the main switch (

of the instrument is in the

• Insert the correct power cord into the power
input socket and connect to a power socket

• Then, the
Lift Bar performs a circular motion to
ensure that the arm is in the correct position
at the start of staining.
The message
FINDING HOME...
is displayed
on the screen.
5.2 Control panel functions

The control panel consists of a membrane keypad with six pushbuttons, and a screen consisting
of a two-line display, each line being 16 characters long.
This is used for controlling the functions of the instrument and for programming the software.
The current state of the stainer and ongoing operations are displayed while a staining task is
being processed.
