5.8 Assembling the transmitted light illuminator arm (TL)
5.8.1 Tiltable transmitted light illuminator arm
• Wipe off the microscope’s contact surface (Fig. 26.3) with
a dry cloth.
• Lightly tilt the illuminator arm (Fig. 26.1) to the rear and
insert it so that the pin (Fig. 26.2) fits in the groove of the
contact surface (Fig. 26.4).
• Raise up the transmitted light illuminator arm and fasten it
with 4 screws (Fig. 27.1).
When fastening, do not hold onto the transmitted light il-
luminator arm. This ensures optimum alignment for the
optical axis.
• The tilting angle of the illuminator arm can be modified or
locked in place in the vertical position using the knurled
screw (Fig. 27.2).
Leica DMi8 A
• Connect the electronics cable to one of the EXT1–EXT6
sockets (Fig. 27.3).
