TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM

The chain saw does
not start.
The battery is not installed
correctly.
Ensure the battery is correctly
installed.
The battery is not fully charged.
Charge the battery.
Defective On/Off switch.
Contact the After Sales Helpline.
Worn carbon brushes.
Contact the After Sales Helpline.
Defective motor.
Contact the After Sales Helpline.
The chain saw does
not reach full power.
Battery pack capacity is too low.
Charge the battery.
Air vents are blocked.
Clean the air vents.
The motor runs but
the saw chain does
not rotate.
Chain brake blocks saw chain.
Check the chain brake and release
chain brake if necessary. Refer to
Checking the Chain Brake Handle
section on page 26-27.
Chain tension is too loose or too
tight.
Adjust the chain tension. Refer to
Tensioning the Saw Chain section on
page 24-25.
Chain oil tank is empty.
Refill with the correct oil.
Guide bar or saw chain is
damaged.
Contact the After Sales Helpline.
Unsatisfactory
cutting
performance.
Saw chain is installed incorrectly.
Install the saw chain correctly. Refer
to Assembling the Guide Bar and the
Saw Chain section on page 20-21.
Saw chain is blunt.
Sharpen cutting teeth or replace with
a new chain.
Chain tension is insufficient.
Adjust the chain tension. Refer to
Tensioning the Saw Chain section on
page 24-25.
Only perform the steps described within these instructions! All further inspection, maintenance and
repair work must be performed by a qualified specialist.
Gloves and appropriate protective clothing must be worn when performing these instructions.
Always turn off the machine and remove the battery pack, and wait until the guide bar stops before
making any adjustment.
