Change the mower deck height on the center rear decks by
moving the spacers on the deck height chains from below
to above the retaining plate.
There are 3 knurled spacers, each indicating 1” increments,
and 12 plain spacers, each indicating 1/4” increments.
When there are no spacers above the plate, the deck is set
at 1”. Placing any combination of wheel spacers above the
plate will raise the deck by the corresponding thickness of
the spacer(s) used.
Calibrate the height of cut using the adjustment chains.
1.
Set the spacers to the desired deck height.
2.
Measure from the bottom of the pan to the floor to ver-
ify the setting.
3.
Adjust the turnbuckle in or out to calibrate the mea-
surement with the spacer setting.
If optional anti-scalp wheels are present, use the height
adjustment holes in the anti-scalp brackets to adjust all the
anti-scalp wheels to one of the two available height adjust-
ments as shown below.
3.8 Drive Belts
WARNING!
Do not inspect, adjust, or change the
deck drive belts while the tractor is running.
Clean the entire deck (including under the belt cov-
ers) of all grease, oil, fuel, grass, or debris to pre-
vent fire or projectile hazards.
CAUTION!
When cutting with new belts, do not
over-power the Articulator within the first few hours
of operation.
Listen for excessive belt slippage.
Check belt tension after 2 hours of operation.
Check all belt tension adjustment hardware after
the first 8 hours of operation.
The drive belt tensioner system automatically tensions the
dual drive belts. No adjustments are necessary. See Fig. 8-
1. Ensure the tensioner is properly lubricated and moves
freely.

Fig. 3-15.
1.
Remove all belt covers.
NOTICE
Start from the center deck and
move outward.
2.
Deflect the sides of each deck belt inward
at its center point between the pulleys by
applying 10 lbs pressure.
NOTE:
Use a straight edge between
pulleys to measure the depth of deflec-
