tor should be called immediately when the accident occurs and "on-the-spot" medical
attention given if possible. If a doctor cannot come to the scene of the accident immedi-
ately, follow his instructions concerning actions to take. Do not add eye drops or other

3.27 Engine
While the engine is running, check the color of the exhaust. During proper operation, the
exhaust should be colorless. If the engine runs continuously with dark exhaust, stop the
engine and correct the problem before operating the Articulator.
Listen for any unusual engine noises. If the engine suddenly slows down or accelerates,
or is making any abnormal noises, running roughly or displaying any other usual charac-
teristics, stop the engine and correct the problem before operating the Articulator.
Check the oil pressure and water temperature indicator lights (the center and left red
lights located at the top of the control panel). These lights will indicate an inadequate
engine oil pressure, or an excessive engine coolant temperature. If either light is acti-
vated while the engine is running, stop the engine and correct the problem before operat-
ing the Articulator.
3.28 Mower Deck Lift
The Model 425D Articulator is equipped with both a manual deck lift lever (on the right
side) and a hydraulic deck lift arm (on the left side). The 325D Articulator is equipped with
manual deck lift levers on both sides, and does not include the hydraulic deck lift.
On the 425D, test the operation of the hydraulic deck lift arm while the engine is running.
Be sure the blades are NOT engaged. Never lift the mower deck into transport position
while the blades are engaged.
The hydraulic deck lift arm is operated with the foot pedal located on the front left of the
frame, to the left of the deck height adjustment pedal. From the operator seat, slowly
depress the TOP of the foot pedal, activating the hydraulic deck lift cylinder. The arm
should retract, lifting the left side of the mower deck slightly off the ground and locking
