1.4.2.

External tank control: In this case the fitter must ensure that all of the control devices that are necessary for the

correct and safe operation of the tank are installed. The minimum devices to be installed are:

- Temperature control thermostat so that users can set the DHW storage temperature.
-  Safety limit switch, set at a maximum temperature that is compatible with the design parameters of the storage

tanks. This limit switch should cut off the feed phases of the electric element, after which a manual reset is

required.

-  All-pole cut-off device, with a separation of 3 mm or more between contacts.

To prevent, as far as is possible, limescale deposits on the electric element, do not exceed a DHW temperature of

60ºC (70ºC in the case of heat shock treatment in anti-legionella disinfecting processes).

1.5.

Situation of the elements sensors.

All the sensors necessary to the operation and the check of the heating element are located on the control panel which

it is necessary to install in tank (K or TD).

- thermometer (1 sensor).
- thermostat of adjustment and safety (2 sensors).

These sensors must be introduced into an immersion tube located in the higher content of the tank. To this end, it is

necessary to pass the sensors through the tube pass-cables giving access to this part of the tank. The control and safety

thermostat makes it possible to fix the temperature of the H.W.S. between 30ºC and 75ºC. If the HWS reaches a higher

temperature, by defect in the adjustment, safety will start automatically, requiring a manual restarting of the thermostat.

This restarting is beside the axis of the thermostat on the lower part of the control panel.
If control is carried out outside the tank, the sensors chosen by the fitter, will be in the same position (immersion tube

in the higher part of the tank).

2.- Replacement of electric element

The steps to be followed are:

• Totally disconnect the unit from the mains power supply.
• With the aid of a tool remove the element to be replaced. Careful not to damage the enamel surface in case of CORAL-

VITRO tanks.
• Insert the new element in the same position as that removed.
• Connect again and plug into the mains power supply.

3. Safety measures

•  Before any intervention, totally disconnect the unit from the mains power supply. All connection circuits must be

disconnected.

• Installation, configuration, start up and maintenance of heating elements must be carried out by an authorised electrical

fitter. All standards and regulations must be observed.

• The user is responsible for ensuring that the essential requirements of the European Low Voltage Directive are respected.
• Electric heating elements generate high temperatures. Precautions should be taken to  protect goods and persons from

accidental burns during operation and after the equipment has been disconnected or installed.

• Note minimum cable section:

- Resistances of 2.5 Kw recommended cable:  H05SJ-K in accordance with UNE 21027, and will have least a section

2.5 mm

2

.

- Resistances higher 2.5 Kw recommended cable: H05VV-F in accordance with UNE-EN 21031 and will have at least

a section 4 mm

2

.

• Element (3~400v), must be connected to a power contactor, never directly to the tank control panel. The external

contactor must be under UNE-EN 60947.

• The installation must have an all-pole cutoff device, with a separation of 3 mm or more between contacts as well as

automatic protection systems.

• The tanks must be fitted with a DHW temperature control thermostat and an all-pole limiter thermostat (the setting of

these two components must be compatible with the design parameters of the storage tanks). The sensors must always

be located at a higher level to the electric heating element.

• We recommend installing appropriate safety devices (temperature safety device, safety level for heating liquids by

natural convection, flow safety device for for liquids in circulation, etc.)

ATTENTION:

Heating elements are not mounted at the factory and the tank does not have any electrical elements.

The installation and mounting of heating elements is your responsability.
