1. First determine the cooking site. The site should be away
from buildings, flammable items and vehicles. The site should
be as flat as possible.
2. PLEASE BE AWARE WHEN THE COOKING CENTER
GRILL IS USED IN THE DOUBLE BARREL CONFIGURATION,
THE GRILL CANNOT BE MOVED. BEFORE SETTING UP IN
THE DOUBLE BARREL CONFIGURATION, MAKE SURE THE
COOKING SITE IS DETERMINED AND THIS IS WHERE THE
GRILLING WILL TAKE PLACE.
3. Unlatch the extension legs and swing both extension legs
90°. See FIGURE 1. Lock the legs in place with the sliding pins
located on the top of the legs. Make sure the pin goes all the
way thru the leg. See FIGURE 2. NOTE: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
MOVE THE COOKING CENTER GRILL IN THE DOUBLE BARREL
CONFIGURATION. THE EXTENSION LEGS WILL NOT
TOLERATE MOVEMENT. All wheels, legs and extension legs
must make contact with the ground.
4. Open the lid and disconnect the lid brace. Push the brace
spacer through the release hole. See FIGURE 3. Rotate the lid
brace forward so it rests on the single barrel ledge.
5. Swing the lid (double barrel) 180° so it rests on top of the
extension leg bumpers.
6. Store the warming grate on the storage hooks located under
the barrel.
7. Place the 2nd set of charcoal and cooking grates into the
double barrel.
8. Place the clip-on expanded metal shelves into the rim slots
of the double barrel. See FIGURE 4.
9. Adjust the vents for your application. Generally when used in
the double barrel configuration, the vents can be closed
because it is an open grilling area and air cannot be controlled
through the vents.
10. Remove both cooking grates and set off to the side. Put
approximately 40-60 charcoal briquettes on the each
charcoal grate. Light according to the briquette manufacturer
instructions.
11. Carefully place each cooking grate back into the grill and wait
for the charcoal to ash over (usually about 20 minutes).
12. Add food to cooking grates and cook food to desired
preference.
13. Use caution when operating the grill. Surfaces will be very
hot.
14. Let the coals burn completely out before cleaning out the ash.
15. To clean the ash from the barrels, turn the vent(s) so the ash
cleanout slot is wide open. Remove the charcoal and
cooking grates. Sweep or move the ashes out
through the slot.
