STP15 Tree/Post Puller 328-222M
Land Pride
9/25/15
Introduction
Hazard control and accident prevention are dependent
upon the awareness, concern, prudence, and proper
training involved in the operation, transport, storage, and
maintenance of the Tree/Post Puller. Therefore, it is
absolutely essential that no one operates the Tree/Post
Puller without first having read, fully understood, and
become totally familiar with the Operator’s Manual. Make
sure the operator has paid particular attention to:
•
Important Safety Information

The following inspection should be performed before
using the Tree/Post Puller.
Skid Steer Shutdown Procedures
Always shut down skid steer before dismounting.
1.
Park on a level surface, engage park brake, lower
puller to the ground, turn off engine, and remove key
to prevent unauthorized starting.
2.
If included, raise seat bar and move skid steer
controls until both are locked.
3.
Make sure all moving parts have stopped before
dismounting skid steer.
Refer to Figure 2-1:
4.
Use steps, grab-handles and anti-slip surfaces when
stepping on and off the skid steer or attachment.
Pre-Operational Safety Check
Make the following inspections with Tree/Post Puller
resting on the ground, attached to the skid steer, and skid
steer shut down properly. Refer to
1.
Complete Operating Checklist table provided above.

Read and follow all maintenance instructions.
See “Section 3: Maintenance & Lubrication”.
Lubricate Tree/Post Puller as needed.
Refer to “Lubrication Points”.
Check Tree/Post Puller
initially and periodically for
loose hardware. Refer to “Torque Values Chart”.
2.
Inspect skid steer safety equipment to make sure it is
in good working condition and that all safety alert
decals are visible and readable. Replace all missing
and unreadable safety alert decals.
3.
Inspect hitch hook-up to Tree/Post Puller. Make sure
skid steer hitch is secured under the Tree/Post
Puller’s top angle bars, lock pins extend fully through
bottom slots in Tree/Post Puller hitch and are locked
down.
4.
Inspect hydraulic hoses and fittings before starting
the machine. Make sure hoses are not pinched,
kinked, twisted, or frayed and that they will not come
in contact with moving parts.
5.
Check for and remove foreign objects wrapped
around the jaws.
6.
Check for bent, broken, and/or structural cracks to
the puller frame, and pivot pins. Repair or replace
damaged parts before putting the equipment into
use.
Operational Safety Check
The remaining inspections are made with the skid steer
engine running.
1.
Start skid steer and set throttle to idle or slightly
above idle.
2.
Operate hydraulic controls to verify control lever
movements function properly and hydraulic cylinder
extends and retracts correctly.
3.
Shut skid steer down properly and make any
necessary changes to the controls and hydraulic
connections before continuing.
4.
Operate loader arms through their full range of
movements to check for clearances. Refer to
Anti-Slip Surfaces
