Section 2: Hydraulic Set-up Options

RCP(M)2760 & RCP(M)3760 Parallel Arm Rotary Cutter 316-548M

Independent Control Option
With Independent Control Option, all hydraulics on the
cutter are self contained using only the solenoid valve,
control stick, and oil in the reservoir to operate the
hydraulic cylinders, and deck motor.
See Figure 2-12 on page 36 for illustration of ARM 1,
ARM2, DECK, & DECK MTR. The deck must be
equipped with gauge wheels before FLOAT capabilities
can be activated. FLOAT allows ARM2 and DECK
cylinders to float with the gauge wheels as they roll over
the ground. Make sure you have the correct valve block
for your particular set-up.
Solenoid Valve Set-up
The valve block is set-up with No-Float Capabilities or
with Float Capabilities.
Valve Block Without Deck Float Capabilities
Figure 2-6
Valve Block With No-Float Capabilities
Refer to Figure 2-6:
The valve block for Independent No-Float Capabilities is
designed to control the deck position at all times with the
cylinders.
Valve Block With Deck Float Capabilities
Figure 2-7
Valve Block With Float Capabilities
Refer to Figure 2-7:
Two additional poppet valves are added to the valve block
add deck floating capabilities. This valve block allows
ARM2 and DECK cylinders to float as the deck is carried
by the gauge wheels.

Control Stick Functions
Refer to Figure 2-8:
The control stick is set-up to handle Independent
No-Float Control or Independent Float Control.
Independent Float Control
Figure 2-8
Independent No-Float Control
The control stick includes the following switches:
•
One momentary rocker switch for ARM1 cylinder.
•
One momentary rocker switch for ARM2 cylinder.
•
One momentary rocker switch for DECK cylinder.
•
Two momentary push buttons for BREAKAWAY
cylinder.
•
One ON/OFF lighted rocker switch for controlling the
DECK MTR. Light is green when motor is running and
red when motor is not running.
•
One ON/OFF detent button for DECK cylinder float.
This button is not functional with Independent No-Float
Control.
Independent Float Control
The control stick includes all functions the Independent
No-Float control includes except the ON/OFF detent
button for DECK cylinder float is functional. The valve
block for the control stick must include two floating
poppet valves shown in
Figure 2-7 for the float button to be functional.
If gauge wheels are mounted on the deck, the valve block
must have the two poppet valves shown in Figure 2-7.
