REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
The refrigeration system basically consists of a compressor, condenser, evaporator, fan, and control box
The components are mounted on a common base or deck. The fan and compressor are electrically
connected in parallel. The ice bank control module, located in the control box, is connected to a probe
that is mounted to the evaporator coils. The probe senses the presence of ice and signals the controller to
turn the compressor/fan off. The probe has to be in water for the compressor to run. The module also has
a delay (approximately five minutes) to prevent the motor from starting under load. This would occur if the
power were interrupted, as well as on initial start-up.
