Your purchase and use of SR-1005 carbon monoxide detector is greatly appreciated. Please read the operation instructions BEFORE using the device,
and make sure to keep this manual after carefully reading it, for the future reference.
• This carbon monoxide detector has been approved for use in homes. It is NOT designed for maritime use or to be used inside caravans.
• If your carbon monoxide detector emits an alarm, never ignore it. Always proceed with appropriate precautions.
• This carbon monoxide alarm is not a substitute for a gas alarm. This detector will NOT sense smoke, fire or any other poisonous gas other than carbon
monoxide. For this very reason you must install smoke alarms to provide early warning of fire and to protect yourself and your family from fire and
hazards related to it.
• This product is intended for use in ordinary indoor residential areas. It is NOT designed to measure compliance with commercial and industrial
standards. This alarm is NOT suitable for installation in hazardous locations. Individuals with medical problems history may consider using warning
devices which provide audible and visual signals for carbon monoxide concentrations under 30PPM.
IMPORTANT: This carbon monoxide alarm is designed to detect carbon monoxide from any source of combustion including improper or malfunctioning
appliances. The installation of this device should not be used as a substitute for proper installation, use and maintenance of fuel burning appliances
including appropriate ventilation and exhaust systems.
IMPORTANT: If any fault signals occur, promptly contact the manufacturer or supplier and do not continue using the alarm.

3. Operation
• This carbon monoxide detector REQUIRES BATTERIES to work. It will not provide protection if the batteries are removed or not replaced in time.
• High or low temperatures, high levels of humidity, heavy jolts or falls may negatively affect the digital display.
• The carbon monoxide detector measures the level of carbon monoxide in the air. The warning signal will sound when the level of CO rises (e.g. if the
heat exchanger in your central heating system is broken) or if CO is constantly present (for instance if CO is slowly leaking from an appliance that burns
fuel). This carbon monoxide detector has a sensor, indicator light and display, an 85-dB warning alarm and a test button. It also has an alarm pause
button to temporarily mute the alarm.
IMPORTANT
: Check your carbon monoxide detector each week. Replace the detector immediately if you find it is not working properly.
4. Inserting and replacing the battery
1. Remove the base plate by pulling down clips from alarm brackets.
2. Insert the supplied batteries into the battery compartment.
3. Ensure that the batteries are inserted correctly, you will hear a beep, if that is the case.
4. Replace the base plate.
When in standby mode, the digital screen alternates every 40 seconds between displaying the room temperature and the CO
concentration.
The battery is checked every 45 seconds in standby mode. The green POWER lamp flashes every 45seconds. When the battery voltage drops below
3.5V, the detector will emit a short beep sound. In the event of low voltages, the detector will continue to function further for 7 days.
IMPORTANT: Immediately replace the batteries when the indicator shows that the batteries are flat. Use appropriate batteries and ensure that they
are inserted properly.
5. Function test and maintenance
1. Press the TEST/MENU button.
2. The POWER/FAULT/ALARM light will flash and then the red ALARM light will flash 4 times.
Meanwhile, the LCD will turn blue and display “

”.
To keep your alarm in good working order:
• Test it every week.
• Vacuum regularly to remove dust.
• Keep the detector away from solvents or detergents.
• Avoid spraying air freshener, hair spray near the alarm.
• Do not paint the alarm. If decorating or using adhesives close to the alarm, remove it temporarily.
• Keep away from containers with napkins.
The following substances may affect the sensor and cause false alarms:
Methane, Propane, Iso-butane, Iso-propanol, Ethylene, Benzine, Ethyl acetate, Hydrogen Sulphide, Dioxide, alcohol-based products, paints, thinners,
solvents, adhesives, hair sprays, aftershaves or perfumes and some cleaning agents.
Failure to carry these steps could result in the premature failure of your device or could pose a threat to your life and anyone inside.
6. Pause function
1. When the CO concentration is less than 150 ppm, the detector will automatically reset itself and return to checking for CO.
2. When the CO concentration is over 150 ppm, the detector will emit an alarm for 5 minutes. The red ALARM light will stay lit. If the CO concentration
remains over 150 ppm after 5 minutes, the detector will emit an alarm yet again.
Key point: You can press the TEST/MENU button to mute the alarm, but only when you are sure the condition will not harm your health and safety.
WARNING! The pause function is just for your convenience and does not solve carbon monoxide problems. Every time the alarm sounds you should
have your house inspected for any potential carbon monoxide problems. Never remove the batteries from the detector to stop the alarm. Use the pause
button to stop / mute the alarm. If you fail to do this, this can lead to serious injuries or even death.
7. History function
Press and hold the TEST/MENU function for 10 seconds. This allows you to read the following:
Indication of the maximum carbon monoxide level measured. The value is shown on the following screen.
7. Sensor fault
The detector will automatically check the sensor every 2 minutes. If the detector is not working properly, the yellow FAULT light will illuminate and the
display will show “Err”. The sensor check will be carried out every 10 seconds and an alarm will sound.
If the sensor is working correctly, the detector will return to standby mode.
IMPORTANT: The detector may give a FAULT signal for certain gases which are not harmful to humans (e.g. alcohol). Remove the batteries and place
the detector in the open air for 24 hours. If the detector shows the FAULT indicator again, replace it immediately.
INSTALLATION
• You should fit at least one CO detector near to or inside every bedroom or living room.
• You should fit at least one CO detector on every floor.
• For better protection, fit a CO detector 1-3 meters from heat sources that use fuel.
IMPORTANT: Carbon monoxide is almost as light as air and spreads easily through rooms and houses.
Position the CO detector at least 1.5 meter above the ground, no lower.
NEVER install a carbon monoxide detector:
• In extremely dusty or greasy environments.
• In extremely humid areas. This detector should be fitted at least 3 meters from a bath, shower or washing machine. In spaces with high levels of
moisture.
• In areas where the temperature can fall below 0 or rise above 45 .
• In places with moving air, such as near to ceiling fans, heating pipes, air conditioning, open windows. Air streams will mean that carbon monoxide only
reaches the sensor for a short time.
• Outdoors or in direct sunlight.
IMPORTANT: This detector has been designed for use in a small family home. It has not been designed for use in shared accommodation areas. In these
cases, a detector should be fitted in each housing unit.
The alarm on your CO detector indicates that carbon monoxide is present, which can cause death. You should never ignore the alarm on your detector!
When the detector emits a sound alarm:
1. Press the TEST/MENU button.
2. Call the emergency services or fire brigade immediately.
3. Promptly leave through a door or window to the open air. Count everyone present and check that nobody is missing. Do not return to the property and
stay away from windows and doors until the emergency services have arrived, your property has been ventilated and your detector is functioning normally.
Carbon monoxide is an invisible, odorless and tasteless gas that is produced by the incomplete combustion of fossil fuels or when fossil
fuels are exposed to heat. Household heating appliances are often sources of carbon monoxide.

Note: Young children, elderly and pets are more susceptible to the dangers of CO.

Disposal
The packaging material is reusable. Dispose of the packaging in an environmentally friendly way by putting it in the appropriate recyclable waste
collection containers.
Dispose of the product and the batteries in view of the environment if you want to separate. The device and the batteries must not be thrown in with
domestic waste. Take them to a recycling center for used electrical and electronic devices. For more information you can consult your local government.
