time will only start to count down when the water has cooled down to the set temperature.

To replace the cartridge, pull it upwards out of the tank as shown in fig. F, and repeat the steps
described in the “PREPARING THE FILTER CARTRIDGE” and “ACTIVATING THE CARTRIDGE
REPLACEMENT INDICATOR” paragraphs.
CLEANING MAINTENANCE
Let the appliance cool down completely before cleaning it.
• Disconnect the power base from the power socket. Empty the kettle and let it cool down before
cleaning it.
• Clean the kettle with a soft, damp cloth and dry it thoroughly.
DO NOT
use abrasive detergents.
DO NO
T immerse the kettle or power base in water or any other liquid.
• The tank and lid can be washed by hand in warm water and washing-up liquid.
DO NOT
wash the cartridge with soap or detergents.
• If the kettle is left unused for 24 hours, discard any water left in it, fill the tank and allow it to
filter.
DESCALING
Limescale can build up in the kettle during normal use, coating the stainless steel plate. Any
limescale that has built up in the kettle must be removed. Remove the filter cartridge from the
tank for the following steps.
• Pour 500 ml of water and 500 ml of white vinegar into the kettle and press the button to boil
it. Leave the boiled mixture for several hours or overnight to take effect. Discard the mixture and
fill the kettle with drinking water up to the MAX level. Close the lid, boil the water and discard it.
• For a more pronounced limescale build-up, use pure vinegar, boil it and leave it overnight to take
effect. Discard the vinegar and fill the kettle with drinking water up to the MAX level. Close the
lid, boil the water and discard it.
• If there is still limescale after using pure vinegar, use a specific descaler for kettles (food grade)
and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
NOTE:
• Limescale build-up can be reduced by emptying the water after using the kettle, and refilling it
when needed.
• Repeat the descaling process periodically.
