Operation
PLACE THE PLANER ON A “ SECURE AND STABLE SURFACE” FOR OPERATION. “CLAMP OR BOLT” THE
PLANER INTO POSITION.
1.) Establish the proper depth of cut (Equal to or less than 1/16”), using either the
DRO (Digital Read Out) or Scale .
2.) Pull out and lock each extension roller to support long stock.
3.) Start Dust Collection Machine.
4.) Start Planer.
5.) Adjust & Set Feed Rate Speed (See Fig. C Below) to desired Speed (16 or 28 FPM), while planer is running.
THIS ACTION WILL VOID WARRANTY! IF OPERATOR DOES NOT ADJUST DESIRED
SPEED WHILE PLANER IS RUNNING.
6.) Feed stock into planer, maintain control and support of stock until the stock is securely feeding through planer.
7.) Reposition yourself to the out feed side of planer and control and support stock until it has exited the out feed
roller.
Helpful Tips:
• PLANERS WORK BEST IF ONE FACE OF STOCK IS FLAT. IF NOT, FLATTEN WITH A JOINTER OR DRUM
SANDER.
• IF NOT POSSIBLE TO FLATTEN ONE FACE, PROCESS CUPPED MATERIAL WITH THE CUP “UP” SO THE
MATERIAL IS STABLE ON THE PLANER BED.
• IF MATERIAL IS SEVERELY CUPPED, ANOTHER OPTION IS TO RIP THE MATERIAL, PLANE IT AND GLUE IT
BACK TOGETHER.
• PLANE WITH THE DIRECTION OF GRAIN TO REDUCE TEAR-OUT AND PROVIDE THE BEST SURFACE
FINISH.
