Firmware Update
5.6.
The LaCie LaCinema Rugged allows you to update its firmware
by loading downloaded firmware updates in the
Update
folder.
To update the firmware:
Go to

www.lacie.com/support
and click on the
Downloads
link.
Select the most recent LaCinema

Rugged firmware down-
load. Connect your LaCinema Rugged to your computer.
Drag the firmware file you just downloaded into the Update
folder on the LaCinema Rugged. Disconnect the LaCinema
Rugged from your computer and connect it to your TV.
Go to Browser view from the main menu.

Select the Update folder and press the OK button

to open
it.
Select ‘

lacieLaCinema Ruggedfw.bin’ file and press the
OK
button. The firmware update will begin.
When the firmware update is completed at 100%

and shows
“Power Off Player …” (Fig. 5.6), power off LaCie LaCinema
Rugged by disconnecting the AC adapter jack on the back
of the product.
Reconnect the power jack and power on the LaCie

LaCin-
ema Rugged to restart the product using the new firmware.
CAUTION:
Never turn off the LaCie LaCinema Rugged during
the Firmware Update process! Doing so may damage your
device. If, for any reason, the procedure fails (e.g. a power
failure occurs during the update), you may not be able to use
your LaCie LaCinema Rugged. Please contact your reseller or
LaCie Customer Support for more information.
