This connection allows you to measure the voltage 

drop across resistor R2.

 

For a single-channel mode

, R1, 

R2, R3 can also be impedances of a capacitive or inductive 
nature, but with the condition that the circuits X and Y 
used are not broken by the direct current of the circuit. 

In 

multichannel mode

, the equivalent impedance referred to 

the ADC input must be active. It is necessary that R2 
should not be more than 50 ohms if the switching 
frequency is maximal.
