6.12 Dimensioning the air circuit
When dimensioning the air circuit (air intake and air outlet), re-
member that the maximum pressure drop (max. compression) of
the individual components must not exceed the value listed in the
device information. Both cross sectional areas which are too
small and deflections (e.g. rain guard) which are too extreme can
cause impermissibly high pressure drops and lead to ineffective
or faulty operation.
Reference values for the air circuit system accessories
ATTENTION!
The air circuit within the building should have a maximum of two 90°
deflections to ensure compliance with the maximum permissible
pressure drops.
The air circuit components available as special accessories are
designed such that their values are below the permissible com-
pression for the standard installation set-ups shown. This means
that it is not necessary to check the overall pressure drop. A light
well or a wall opening with a rain guard can be used for the air in-
take and air outlet.
The overall pressure drop, which is the sum of the individual
pressure drops from the air intake to the air outlet, must not ex-
ceed the value given in the device information. Grids, light wells,
tight bends, air ducting and air hoses should also be taken into
consideration.
ATTENTION!
The minimum air flow should be checked whenever the set-up deviates
from the standard connections or third-party air circuit components are
fitted.
Selection of air circuit components
The following air circuit components are available in four different
sizes to correspond to the available performance levels:
Rain guard
Air duct (duct/bend)
Sealing collars

Base
A customer-supplied foundation is suitable for all 15MTI, 15TTI
and 20TTI heat pumps installed indoors as this increases the
overall height of the construction, allowing the air ducts to be in-
stalled directly below the ceiling.
Table of dimensions for front view 600-800
The dimensions for the installation of the heat pump and the po-
sition of the wall openings are determined as follows:
1. Step:
Determine the type of air circuit components
required according to the type of air-to-water
swimming pool heat pump being installed,
according to Table 6.1. (Page 11)
2. Step:
Select the required installation version.
3. Step:
Extract the required values pertaining to the
respective installation version from the table of
dimensions.
