Tone SOLID
,

,

(KE895 model only)
or

. A beep sounds parallel to the power-up. The device automati-
cally switches to the selected test mode and starts the execution of the test.
KE890/895 can also be turned on by briefly pressing the
Frequency
key, but
will automatically switch to Standard mode
(KE890 will also switch to Stan-
dard mode when button 6 is pressed)
. In standard mode, only line voltage
measurement and battery voltage monitoring are active.
The device is switched off by briefly pressing the
OFF
button. A confirmation
tone sounds when the device is switched off as well as when it is switched on.
Battery voltage monitoring
KE890/895 checks the battery voltage every minute. If the battery voltage
falls below 6 Volt, the device warns by flashing the red LED >100 Volt three
times, in addition a warning signal sounds. If the battery voltage falls below
5 volts, the device switches off without further warning.
Time-controlled switching off (timeout) and override
In standard mode, the device turns off automatically after 30 minutes. In the
Toner SOLID
and
Toner ALT
modes, it will not turn off until 60 minutes have
elapsed, in both cases accompanied by an off tone.
Pressing and holding the
OFF
key (approx. 1 minute) activates the Timeout
Override mode. It prevents the unit from switching off automatically. When
activated, a confirmation tone sounds and the green OK LED lights up briefly.
Even if the timeout override mode is activated, KE890/895 can be switched
off as usual by pressing the
OFF
key. When the device is switched on again,
the time-controlled switch-off is activated again.
