Installation
Note
The KÜPPERSBUSCH induction hob may only be built in in accordance
to the instructions included in this manual:
– on a cover plate
– above a KÜPPERSBUSCH electrical built-in oven with cooling fan
– above a drawer, only with acc. no. 136.
The KÜPPERSBUSCH induction hob must not be installed above a
dishwasher.
In case of a failure to observe these instructions, KÜPPERSBUSCH shall
decline any liability and the approved marks of conformity become
invalid!
Notes for fitting
■
Should the built-in cooking surface be operated with an oven installed
underneath, only Küppersbusch built-in baking ovens with appliance cooling
are permitted.
■
If the cooking surface is built in above a buttom cupboard, a cover plate
has to be built into the kitchen cupboard.
■
Possible thickness of worktops:
above an oven installed underneath: 40 - 50 mm
above a cover plate: 30 - 50 mm.
If these dimensions are not respected the electronics of the hob can
overheat!
We recommend installation similar to that illustrated below.
■
For practical reasons the
lateral clearance between the
appliance and an adjacent
tall cupboard unit must
measure at least 300 mm.
■
Cooker hoods or wall
cupboards mounted above
the hob must be installed
with a minimum distance of
650 mm to the hob.
■
No cross-bars may be in the
area of the cut-out
underneath. They have to be
reduced at least to the
opening size of the worktop.
■
The plastic finish or the veneer of built-in kitchen furniture must have been
produced using a heat-resistant adhesive (100 °C).
Dimension drawing for the installation in the induction hob:
■
The distances of the
opening to the wall for
the front, the back and
the side have to
correspond to the
dimension drawing!
■
A corner moulding of
solid wood may be fitted
to the worktop at the
back of the hob provided
that the minimum
clearances are
maintained.
■
The working surface must
be installed absolutely
horizontally and the
opening must be cleanly cut.
We recommend to seal the cut sections of the worktop for built-in
dishwashers and oven hobs with a water-repellent protection paint.
■
Each time the appliance is removed from the worktop, replace the seals.
■
In the case of ceramic-tiled worktops it is necessary to provide an additional
seal with the aid of a permanently elastic sealing compound. Such sealing
compound can be purchased as Küppersbusch spare part No. 53 55 69.
■
A ventilation slit of at least 7 mm must be provided above the panel in every
method of installation. Ventilation openings are to be provided in the back
of the cupboard.
Cold air is drawn in through the front ventilation slit. The heated air escapes
through the ventilation openings in the rear. An air channel to be installed
(see following descriptions) prevents the heated airflowing back to the cold
air intake side.
Installation of the cooking surface
■
If the cooking surface is built in above a bottom cupboard, a cover plate
has to be built into the kitchen cupboard.
[
The EKI 807 may only
be installed centred
above the described
installation possibilities. Otherwise a sufficient appliance cooling cannot
be guaranteed.
– Insert ventilation slits (see dimension drawing).
– Cutting-out the opening.
– Seal the edges of the worktop.
– Install the working top horizontally.
Installation above a cover plate:
■
The built-in cooking surface has an
installation depth of 90 mm (space
between the upper edge and the cover).
If the installation depth is not reached
the aerial guide cannot be installed. If it
is too long the aerial guide is not
effective.
– Install the cover plate in the mentioned installation depth of 90 mm.
– Assemble the enclosed foam
mouldings as illustrated and
place on the cover plate. Thus
a back-flow of warmed air is
prevented from entering the
cool air intake. This is
important for proper
functioning!
– Insert the exceeding foam under the worktop.
