TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE
Problem Possible cause Remedy
Poor raking across the whole Tines are too far off the ground Adjust wheel height (page 16)
rotor width
Poor raking on one side Tines are too far off the ground Adjust wheel height to obtain
on this side equal tine clearance on both sides
Poor raking on both sides The rotor is angled forward Raise the front of the rotor by
lengthening the top link (page 18).
If necessary check the wheel
height adjustment (see page 16)
Poor raking in the center The rotor is angled rearward Lower the front of the rotor by
shortening the top link
Rotor pulls crop out Swath formed too near the rotor Position swath screen further
of the swath away from the rotor (page 16)
Lumps of earth stick on the Adjust wheel height (page 16)
tine ends
Rotor speed is too high Reduce engine speed, possibly
put into a higher gear to maintain
the same ground speed
Crop thrown sideways at the Swath screen is set too much Set swath screen forwards
front of the swath screen to the rear (see page 16).
Reduce engine speed
Crop thrown sideways from Swath screen is set too high Lower swath screen (see page 16)
underneath the swath screen
The torque limiter releases Excessive load placed on the Adjust wheel height (page 16)
too frequently tine arms
Reduce forward speed
Excessive rotor vibrations The rotor speed is too high Check that the tractor PTO speed
is not higher than 540 rpm.
